As we move into winter, the Christchurch rental market remains relatively stable compared to many other parts of the country. While tenant demand has softened from the peak summer leasing period, well-presented properties in desirable locations continue to attract good interest.

The property market continues to settle into a more balanced phase as we move through 2026. Nationally, activity remains subdued, with softer sales volumes, easing rental growth, and investors taking a more considered approach.

April has arrived, and we are coming out of the traditional “busy” period where most tenancy turnover occurs. Activity naturally begins to settle at this time of year, and we’re seeing that reflected across our portfolio.
